People, by nature, are compassionate. I remember an episode on "Penn and Teller: Bullshit!!" where they went to gather protesters against dihydrogen monoxide. They mentioned that it was commonly found all across the earth; that people are getting so used to it that they need it for survival; that extremely large doses can cause health problems and frequent urination... There was a large number of people who got concerned and signed the petition to ban dihydrogen monoxide. Dihydrogen monoxide.... is H2O - water... So if you jump out for a seemingly just cause, people WILL get concerned. More people will support Greenpeace's plane protest than cry for the passengers in it. Sad. People should think more before picking sides. The problem is that it is easy for them to gather support from people… People, by nature, are compassionate.
