It is one of those things I have never really bothered about following up on. I will change it though, as I like to know my readers are happy with the feed. The only down side to that is that I like this site to be interactive. The down side to RSS is that people read something and then dont come to the site. No comments are left and it is not known if the content is good or not. A lot of the stuff that happens on this site happens after the post. The comment section is where it gets better and better, but RSS removes that interaction. Of course, I would rather have 10 readers who dont comment instead of not having 10 readers at all.
