Ahh yes. The profoundness of watching a film and thinking of something completely irrelevant. This time, it was “The Time Machine”. I find watching Guy Pearce “act” about as exciting as getting molested by a bear with a dodgy disease.
But that doesn’t matter. (Does it?)
Geez. Ya know…I cannot remember where I was going with this.
Hell. I dunno. Lets talk about something else. Lets talk random.
OK, lets start with beauty pageants. As you know I have done a few posts on pageants, but I decided to google “animal beauty pageants” and see what came up. The result? Scary. Reptile, bulldog…hell, there is even an “Ugliest Dog” pageant. Although I have since confirmed that this is fixed, and not a true reflection as I couldn’t see my 1st wife on there anywhere.
Harsh but Fair.
Weirdly, as I move on, I stay with the her, but not directly.
Lets talk about cows. According to “boffins”:
cattle and deer align their bodies in a north-south direction
Boffins? Someone with an unhealthy appetite for looking at the rear of a cow is not what I would call a boffin. I guess the other part here is…WHY?! Not why do cows do it, but why do we care? Why do they care? Strangely, the news story fails to mention the answer to this question. Maybe because there is no other reason apart from a German scientist with an unhealthy craving spending too much time looking at Google Images.
Moving on from cows to idiots. I filled in my very first DMCA today. Yeah, someone was actually interested in ripping off my content. Sad sad lonely human being. I read this stuff back and am amazed you peeps come back. Is it because you just love a good car crash movie, or much much less? Of course, it was the fact that the site with my content would reload an advert whereas he/she/SheMale was making money so that was that. Closing down the site. “What was the site?” I can hear you not even interested to know. Well, I wont tell you that as they could make more money from ads until the DMCA is being actioned. But if the person who stole my content is reading this:
“Hey. Dude. Your village wants their idiot back! Be a good freak and head on home.”
Moving on from idiots to “OH MY GOD I JUST DONT CARE! STOP GIVING HER NEWS SPACE!”.
Amy Winehouse is facing legal action after pulling out of a concert where she was one of the headline acts. Sorry, but if I paid £50 for a ticket to a gig and then she pulled out, I would think I was on to a winner and the night was about to get a LOT better. Geez…I JUST DON’T CARE! MAKE THEM STOP!!!
So anyway. As the post title says. Just what does a blind person dream about? Any ideas?
So I just read this post back. Anyone else hear the death knell?

Amy Winehouse?
I haven’t heard one single note from her, but with all of the press she’s getting on this side of the Atlantic FOR not performing her music, I can safely say that (and I can’t believe I’m about to say this) I would rather read press coverage about Michael Jackson than read one more word about Ms. Winehous.
As to what blind people dream, I would think that they would dream about what you and I would dream about (sorry, had to get serious for a moment).
And could you clarify for me one particular item? What is a DMCA?

Well georgie. Imagine being kicked repeatedly where it hurts for about 4 minutes, and you just listened to one of her songs!
Now as for the blind thing. It was more that do they dream and “see” what they perceive is around them? Or is it still all dark or what? In a dream, anything can happen. Does their mind play tricks on them?
Google the dmca. In some ways it is great, in others it is plain stupid. Mostly stupid!

Okay. Just “googled” DMCA and suffice to say, even with my experience in understanding government gobbledygook, I got seriously lost reading the Wikipedia entry on it.
While it’s highly informative, it seems to me that its like taking a sledgehammer to kill a cockroach. In other words, overkill.
Has to be a happy medium somewhere. But I’m sure I won’t be able to find it my lifetime.

You have phrases like “as exciting as getting molested by a bear with a dodgy disease. ” and you wonder why your content is getting stolen. I particularly love the way the specification does not place judgment on one’s possible reaction to a standard bear molestation. With all the talk of animal beauty pageants I think your qualification on this was very….accepting.

@Georgie – Oh for sure. It is an industrial sized mallet for use on a gerbil with 2 legs tied together, and the other 2 legs are already other sizes. But it was all the hosting company gave me to use to remove my content. If you want to see a happy medium, I can only suggest having a chat with a clairovoyant who is in contact with someone who has the upcoming lottery numbers to hand and is happy to share.
@Ponygirl – Ah yes. See, most bears are fine. Allegedly. It is the promiscuous ones that bring that little “extra” to the table. They need to be spoken to.
@Static – With Hellen Keller? Dude…that is so wrong. NO ONE should have to go through that. Palming her off on to the sight impared is just cruel.

@Sy – LOL what’s wrong with Helen Keller? I hear she was very skilled with her hands. Besides the blind shouldn’t care what she looks like, they’re blind. And I’m sure they don’t mind that she’s sight and hearing impaired or mute either. When’s the last time you knew of any male fantasies where the girl is giving you a lecture on the art of lovemaking? It’s all in the “hands” brother. By hands I mean boobs. =P

You know, that is a very good point. I have wondered how many of the posts I write are “universal” enough! It is hard to write for a foreign audience when I dont actually know what the “audience” does! Of course, I have readers from the US, Germany, France, Australia, Japan…writing one post that made sense to all would be a challenge. I might give that challenge a go!
Now I am liking the idea of a year long party! Consider me there!!

You really should consider adding a footer to your RSS feed, containing a copyright notice and a link back to your site. (people that read your content here wouldn’t see it on every post, but RSS readers would, and it would get published with the post on any scraper site)
The more popular you become the bigger a target you will be for scrapers.
Eventually you will spend more time chasing down thieves than enjoying your life. It will be at that point you will just skip all the DMCA’s and just appreciate the fact I told you to add the footer to your feed and call it free advertising, because anyone that reads a post of yours on a scraper’s site will see it was stolen, click the link and come here for more good stuff. (it can help your site grow bigger, so use it to your advantage)
And I wouldn’t worry about anyone making money on your content. Most scraper sites don’t make much…not even enough for a cup of coffee each day. Google hits them hard for duplicate content and they don’t get as much traffic as you think, and most of that traffic doesn’t click ads.
I have been chasing down people and handing out DMCA’s for a long time and I finally gave up and put in a footer on the feeds for all my sites and enjoyed a mild increase in traffic and page rank for my own sites.

Strangely, I made a lot of changes to the feed just before you posted this! Added a lot of information to it. I havent tested it, so we will see just how much of a mess comes from it when/if I write the next post! I have seen my stiff on a few scrapers and got rid of them, but for the most part it is just an inconvenience. It was the one that as you went there it forwarded to an ad site that annoyed me the most! That one had to go.
