Are you from Illinois? Or maybe from a different state but can answer this one simple question for me?
The question? Well, it is simple. It is:
“What the hell is this all about!?”
Now, that wont make any sense until you watch the video below. I am quite lost for words. Actually, no that is a lie. I am laughing my head off, but feel that it is serious to some people so I won’t take the piss too much.
According to the story that led me to the video, this is a “sport”? I don’t know…I watched it and all I could think of was this:
Surely he would win hands down over her? He has passion, motive and just really looks like he is enjoying himself, whereas she is just not giving it beans like she could be and almost laughs half way through. The judges should be disappointed with themselves. Although I am wondering. If the two of them were to have kids, just what would they look like? I had a chat with Google Images and searched for ”PigChild”, but sadly the results were just not what I wanted, so use your imagination.
But seriously. If you can shed some light on to this, and what on earth it is about, please stick a comment below!
Right. I am off to watch it again.

Being from the states, I can give you a good explaination.
Video #1 is hog calling. They have contests on who can do the longest, the loudest, etc. etc. Very popular in the South and Midwest.
Video #2 is the infamous rape scene from the movie “Deliverance”. Ned Beatty’s character is raped by a backwoods hillbilly. Before the hillbilly rapes him (off camera) he makes him get down on all fours and crawl around in the dirt and tells him to “squeal like a pig”. You really have to watch the movie in order to completely understand the scene, but it’s really part of the American pop culture (movie came out in the early 70′s and helped put Burt Reynolds on the map).

Hog Calling. That, my friend, is insanity at it’s best! Although I am pretty sure I could give it a go! I think it would be great fun! What do you win? Sausuages? Burgers (they sacrifice the cowe and safe the pigs bacon?) or what? I am off to google to look this up!

Money and trophies I think.
But it’s very cool though. We have some pretty bizarre events that make the t.v. news every so often: belly flop diving, ugliest dog, smelliest sneakers, lumberjack events.
And ESPN 2 covers the annual Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating contest.
As you can see, we ain’t exactly playing with a full deck here in the states.

A hot dog eating competition…now that is something I can get my teeth in to! I must come over and take part in that one day!
Now. I agree. No full deck, but when I just checked, I found there were 50 cards and not 52. But they were ALL jokers. Interesting!

Every one knows that scene in Deliverance as it has been referenced in probably half a dozen movies and maybe even a few TV shows.
